Whale Watching on the Island of Kauai, Hawaii

Whale watching season on Kauai runs from November through March where Kohola, the Humpback Whale, makes its annual migration to the Hawaiian Islands. It is estimated that nearly 2/3 of the North Pacific Humpback Whale population makes the 3,000 mile trip to Hawaii to breed, calve and nurse their young.

Adult Humpback Whales can range in size from 40' to 52' and can weigh as much as 45 tons. During your cruise, keep your eyes on the ocean as these graceful creatures often breach, propelling up to 40% of their body out of the water and landing on its side to create an incredible splash!

Safety & Respect: All sightseers and watercraft must stay a minimum of 100 yards from the whales however, because of their size you'll be surprised at how close they feel when they breach.
